Moonbeam — an overview of a very promising project

Hello! In this article, I want to tell you about a very cool and promising project that I recently found! I studied it very carefully and I really liked what the project team is doing! And today I will tell you everything that I could learn about the Moonbeam.

About the project

Moonbeam’s decentralized and public parachain provides an Ethereum compatible smart contract platform that makes it easy to build compatible applications.

Moonbeam makes it easy to build decentralized apps on Polkadot, which means custom DApps can integrate with other blockchains including Bitcoin and Ethereum. With Moonbeam smart contracts and compatibility with the Ethereum toolkit, developers can quickly build apps that work with other users and assets on remote blockchains, either through built-in Polkadot compatibility or through cross-chain integration.

Moonbeam is a developer-focused blockchain that aims to provide interoperability with the existing set of tools and the Ethereum network. Moonbeam provides a full EVM implementation, a Web3 compliant API, and bridges that connect Moonbeam to existing Ethereum networks. This allows developers to deploy existing Solidity smart contracts and DApps for Moonbeam with minimal changes.

Moonbeam will also be a parachain on the Polkadot network. This means that it will receive general security from the Polkadot network and will be able to integrate with other networks connected to Polkadot (as soon as this feature becomes available on Polkadot).

The Moonbeam network has several distinguishing features aimed at ensuring accessibility and interoperability between networks:

- Smart contracts that work natively with other Polkadot chains or connect to external chains such as Ethereum and Bitcoin via bridges.

- Web3 and EVM support, which makes it easy to migrate existing Ethereum DApps and smart contract backends to Moonbeam and Polkadot.

Compatible with familiar Ethereum development tools like Truffle and MetaMask.

Moonbeam features

  • Easy On-Ramp
Build new kinds of apps with smart contracts that use Moonbeam’s dedicated connection to the Polkadot network.
  • Cross-network integration
Take advantage of Polkadot’s native integration capabilities to move tokens to and from the platform and provide services to other networks.
  • Reliable tools and services
Work with the familiar ecosystem of Ethereum developer tools you know and love, including Truffle and MetaMask.
  • DeFi primitives
Use Polkadot based services as DeFi building blocks such as DOT, aUSD and other stablecoins, Laminar DEX, Chainlink oracles and more.
  • Ethereum compatibility
Built-in Solidity based smart contracts and a web3.js compatible provider to allow existing Ethereum based interfaces to connect to Moonbeam.
  • Bitcoin support
Work with BTC directly from a full-featured, high-performance, Turing-complete smart contract environment based on BTC-Polkadot bridges.

Development of the project in 2021

The year 2021 has just begun, and the project has already concluded many collaborations and continues to develop rapidly, this is what has already been done:

  • 02.02.2021
Razor Network integrates pricing oracles into the Moonbeam network
  • 01/26/2021
Ocean Protocol will launch on Moonbeam parachain for Polkadot
  • 01/08/2021
Poolz Token Exchange Protocol Adds Moonbeam Support
  • 11/18/2020
Moonbeam Updates Account Structure To Match Ethereum
  • 10/21/2020
Injective Protocol Launches Cross-Network DeFi in Polkadot Ecosystem with Moonbeam

The project is quite promising. I want to become an ambassador for this project and support and develop it with all my might, I see great prospects in it!

And for now, if you are interested, you can start by adding the Moonbeam network in Metamask —

Also launched a program of ambassadors in which everyone can participate! Everyone can contribute to the community and be rewarded.
