Hello! I want to tell you about a very cool and promising project in which I decided to participate, this is AVALabs!

Let’s start with what is AVALabs?

It is an open source platform designed to run decentralized applications and interoperable blockchains. Developers using the AVA platform will be able to create high-performance and fast distributed systems that are highly reliable and secure.

Built as an ecosystem of many different blockchains, AVA allows developers to deploy both private and public subnets. AVA allows personal data to be separated from the rest of the AVA network while remaining a member of the entire network, thereby providing a rich and complex set of use cases for privacy and data delivery that simply do not exist on other platforms. In addition, with fast decision times and modest hardware requirements, AVA provides a system that can receive data multiple times.

AVA is the first next-generation blockchain to deliver the scale DeFi demands. With the most advanced consensus technology, the Avalanche protocol, AVA delivers high throughput in excess of 4500 TPS and fast completion in less than 3 seconds.

Today, decentralized systems operate on the basis of two families of consensus protocols: Classic and Nakamoto. AVA runs on an entirely new family of consensus protocols known as “Snow Consensus”. Adopting the best of the classic and Nakamoto consensus without any downsides, the Snow Consensus protocols provide finality in less than three seconds, don’t rely on unnecessary state reconciliation work, and can scale to as many validators as they want to participate without sacrificing performance. …

The table below compares AVA with existing technologies:

Building the AVA platform:

1) Consensus engines

The Snow family of consensus protocols is the foundation of AVA. The platform has two consensus engines at launch:

Avalanche is an optimized DAG consensus first outlined in the Team Rocket document. High throughput and easy cutting.

Snowman is a chain-optimized consensus pioneered by the AVA Labs team. High bandwidth, great for smart contracts.

2) Virtual machines
Virtual Machines in AVA is code that uses consensus to create a database. This database can be in the form of a chain, DAG, log file, or some other data structure that requires synchronization across multiple computers.

Virtual machine logic can be deployed many times across many subnets, each generating a separate ChainID for each instance.

3) Chains

Chains are a generic term for virtual machine instances. Each chain is assigned a ChainID and can only be on one subnet. However, the same virtual machine instance can be used to deploy the same type of chain multiple times on a subnet.

4) Subnets

A subnet is a subset of validators in the AVA platform that choose to participate in the validation of a chain group. Any chain deployed on a subnet will be validated by platform validators who decide to become members of that subnet. Subnets must create their own incentive mechanisms for these validators.

AVAlanche features:

  • Reliability
  • Waiting time — on average, it takes 2 seconds to complete an operation around the world.
  • The throughput is 1000–10000 transactions per second. Initial tests showed throughput = 1600 TPs.
  • Energy Efficiency — The protocol is green. It does not harm the environment, does not waste large amounts of energy.
  • Scalability
  • Sustainability

AVA token

The popular and large crypto exchange Coinbase is already considering the AVA project token (Avalanche) for listing! Which speaks about the seriousness of the team’s intentions and the crazy prospects of the project in the future!

The token itself can be used both to pay for transactions on the network, and to allow the user to enter a share of ownership, which will allow him to protect himself from the so-called “Sibyl Attacks”, as well as to control by voting. After all, Avalanche is collectively run by people who are interested in the successful development of the system.

Roadmap of the project for 2020

  • The Cascade public testnet is scheduled to launch in April 2020, allowing everyone to join the betting pool and practice posting on the platform before connecting to the network.
  • The Denali testnet is scheduled to launch in June 2020, which will be the final round of testing before the launch of the AVA mainnet. It will contain many new components, tools and libraries for developers.
  • And in July 2020 it is planned to launch the Mainnet network.

Bounty campaign of the promising AVALabs project!

The project also launched a huge bounty company with a large number of tasks, by completing which you can earn the very same AVA tokens!

Participate in community assignments.

Here you can perform tasks that the project team itself gives us, including: Creating memes about AVA, writing articles about AVA, your suggestions for improving the project and other tasks!

I will tell you about those in which I myself participate, this is creating memes and writing articles:

  • Memes creation

You can make a maximum of 3 memes every week, for each you can get from 100 to 3000 points and from 0.01 to 0.02 reputation, depending on the quality of the meme. Quality is assessed according to 2 criteria: quality and meaning, and of course the meme should be at least funny.

Personally, I created 3 memes about AVA, for one I was given 300 points and for two I was given 200 points, in the end I got 700 points. Also, for each meme I was awarded 0.01 reputation. Later I will tell you why a reputation is needed.

  • Writing Articles

You can write a maximum of 2 articles per week, but this is already more difficult than making memes, which is why they are more rewarded. So, you can get from 200–10,000 points per article and from 0.01 to 0.05 reputation. I haven’t written a single article yet, so I can’t say how much you can get on average for each one, but I can assume that if you wrote yourself and at least 500 words, then you will be awarded about 1000 points.

There are also other tasks, both difficult and easy. For example, from difficult tasks, it is to become a validator and help in the development of the project’s mainnet network. I honestly don’t quite understand how to do this, but the reward there is very good and amounts to 5000 points!

Of the easy ones, these are usually one-off tasks, such as putting a star on the project (100 points) or leaving a positive feedback somewhere (100 points).

I do not know exactly when this bounty campaign will end, but most of the community tasks end on August 31, 2020, so I can assume that then the campaign itself will end. Therefore, there is not much time left!

What can you spend the accumulated points on?

Points can be redeemed on the site itself for Amazon gift cards:
5000 AVA Points = Amazon Gift Card $ 50
10,000 AVA Points = Amazon Gift Card $ 100

And also for the tokens of the AHX project:
5000 AVA Points = 100 AHX Tokens
50,000 points = 1000 AHX Tokens

Personally, I will exchange my points for tokens, since I consider the project very promising, and you can get much more than just exchanging for an Amazon card, but for this you will need to go through the KYC procedure, that is, to confirm your identity.

By the way, after you get 0.1 reputation, you can get points for tweets and retweets on Twitter:

  • You can do a maximum of 3 retweets per day, 20 points each.
  • And a maximum of 3 tweets about the project, 25 points each.
